Research on Yoga

One of our fundamental aims is research and development of evidence-based yoga. The work is based on the evidence model and is carried out in collaboration with academia and healthcare.

International Research

International research on yoga has developed rapidly in recent decades, with a growing body of evidence confirming its broad health benefits.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises yoga as a powerful tool for improving both physical and mental health, as well as for preventing and managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), there is now extensive evidence that yoga improves overall health by relieving stress, supporting good health habits, and improving mental and emotional health, sleep and balance. Yoga also helps to manage anxiety, depression and chronic diseases, improving quality of life.
