Yoga to support cancer rehabilitation

Cancer disease and treatments affect both body and mind. Standardised and evidence-based yoga can lead to both improved treatment outcomes and a higher quality of life for patients, while contributing to a more efficient and patient-centred healthcare system.

Yoga to support cancer rehabilitation

ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) and SIO (Society for Integrative Oncology) recommend considering yoga for cancer patients to reduce symptoms such as anxiety, depression, pain, and cancer-related fatigue, as well as improve mood, quality of life, and sleep quality. The MOSI (Medical Yoga Standardised Intervention) framework aligns with these international guidelines and offers a safe, evidence-based and standardised approach used in several regions of Swedish healthcare.
